How Greyskull LP works

Greyskull LP (GSLP) is a simple, fast-moving beginner program built around the AMRAP set. Each main lift is two straight sets of five followed by a final set of as many reps as possible — written 2×5, 1×5+. That last set is the engine: it tells you when you've earned a bigger jump.

The A/B workouts

  • Workout A — press (or bench), then squat
  • Workout B — the other press/bench lift, then deadlift

You run A and B alternately, three sessions a week, so the two upper-body presses trade off while squat and deadlift each keep their day. This calculator shows both workouts side by side with your current weights loaded.

Progression

Add weight every session you complete: 2.5 kg / 5 lb on lower-body lifts, 1.25 kg / 2.5 lb on upper-body. The standout rule is the double jump — if your final AMRAP set reaches 10 or more reps, add double the normal increment next session. That rewards good days and keeps the bar moving fast.

A note on the numbers

Greyskull is weight-driven, not a percentage scheme, so the calculator works from the actual weights you enter. Start with weights you can comfortably hit for the prescribed sets — the program's whole strength is the long, steady climb, so leave yourself room to run.

while you're here

I'm also building a thing. It's an offline strength tracker I made for myself — logs your sets, reads out your trends and PRs, and runs entirely on your phone. It's not finished, and to be clear: I don't want your data — there's no account and no server.

Just a tool to keep you organized and a little more honest about your numbers. Want to test it? Come say hi.
